Dancing Princess Parties' Storybook Ballet Camp is a 5 day Camp adventure where tiny dancers explore storybook ballets through imagination, play, and storytelling. The first day is Cinderella Ballet Camp!

On the first day of camp we explore Sergei Prokofiev’s Cinderella ballet tells the story of a kind young girl who is mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters but dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother (the Lilac Fairy), Cinderella is magically transformed and attends the royal ball, where she captures the heart of the Prince through graceful dancing and kindness. When the clock strikes midnight, the magic disappears, and Cinderella rushes away, leaving behind her glass slipper. The Prince searches the kingdom to find the mysterious girl, and when the slipper fits Cinderella, the two are joyfully reunited.

Each day of Storybook Ballet Camp, dancers explore a Terminology word. For Cinderella, the Terminology word is Pantomime: Pantomime is a form of storytelling through movement and gestures without using words. In ballet, dancers use pantomime to help the audience understand the story, characters, and emotions through expressive actions and motions.
At camp, dancers explore pantomime through creative movement cards inspired by famous scenes from Cinderella. Dancers act out moments such as Cinderella sweeping and dancing with the broom, the stepsisters dramatically putting on makeup and getting dressed for the royal ball, and the lively visit from the dance master. These playful movement prompts help dancers build storytelling skills while bringing the ballet to life through movement and imagination.

Cinderella is visited by magical fairies who each represent a season and bring special gifts through dance and movement. The Spring Fairy dances with light, blossoming energy, while the Summer Fairy moves with warmth and brightness. The Fall Fairy brings swirling, breezy movement inspired by falling leaves, and the Winter Fairy dances with crisp, icy elegance. Guiding them all is Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, often called the Lilac Fairy, who represents kindness, hope, and transformation.
At camp, dancers listen to the music from the ballet score and explore how each fairy moves with different energies, dynamics, and emotions through creative dance.

One of the most iconic images from the Cinderella ballet is the ballerina portraying Cinderella dancing gracefully in sparkling pointe shoes. Inspired by this magical ballet tradition, dancers at camp design and decorate their own paper pointe shoes using colors, jewels, and sticker rhinestones. Dancers take home their sparkling creations as a special keepsake and memory from their Storybook Ballet Camp experience.

Additional activities in our Cinderella Storybook Ballet Camp bring famous ballet moments to life through imaginative movement and play. Dancers giggle through a Silly Scarf Game inspired by the dramatic stepsisters fighting over accessories to wear to the royal ball. In the Dance Master Freeze Dance Game, dancers practice ballet-inspired movements such as curtsying to the prince, twirling at the ball, and carefully walking in their “glass slippers.”
Campers also journey through a Cinderella-themed obstacle course designed to help Cinderella make it to the ball, complete with a magical castle backdrop photo opportunity for families. Dancers even recreate the famous Orange Dance from the ballet using bright orange balloons as they move and dance together. Throughout camp, dancers explore storytelling, creativity, and ballet technique through themed games, props, music, and imaginative adventures.
